Who we are
LightBit Studio is an independent mobile game studio. We build small, lightweight Android games including Blokko: Block Puzzle Offline, Sudokko: Sudoku Offline, Patches: Daily Tile Puzzle, and future titles. This privacy policy covers all LightBit Studio apps on Google Play.
The short version
- No account required. You never give us your name, email, or password.
- Your game progress saves on your device only. Nothing is uploaded to our servers.
- We collect limited, anonymous technical data through third-party SDKs (analytics, crash reporting, and advertising) to keep the apps working and to earn revenue through ads.
- Ads are how we pay the bills. We use several ad networks. Each one has its own privacy policy, linked below.
- You can opt out of personalised ads at any time via your Android device settings.
- We do not sell your data. We are not a data company.
What data is collected and why
1. Analytics — Firebase Analytics (Google)
What it collects: Anonymous usage events — when you open the app, start a game, complete a daily task, and when you close the app. No personal information is attached. Data is linked to an anonymous installation ID, not to you as a person.
Why: So we understand which features players use and which ones they don't, so we can improve the game.
Who operates it: Google LLC
Their privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
2. Crash reporting — Firebase Crashlytics (Google)
What it collects: If the app crashes or freezes, Crashlytics sends a report containing your device model (e.g., "Samsung Galaxy A03"), Android OS version, app version, and a technical log (stack trace) of what caused the crash. No personal information is included.
Why: So we can find and fix bugs that make the app crash.
Who operates it: Google LLC
Their privacy policy: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
3. Advertising — AppLovin MAX (mediation)
Our apps display ads to generate revenue. We use AppLovin MAX as our ad mediation platform. MAX runs an auction across multiple ad networks simultaneously to find the best ad for your session. The ad networks that participate are listed below.
What MAX collects: Device information (device model, OS version, screen size, language, country), an anonymous device identifier, and data about which ads were shown and whether they were interacted with.
Who operates it: AppLovin Corporation
Their privacy policy: https://www.applovin.com/privacy/
Ad networks inside AppLovin MAX
Each of the following networks may collect data as described in their own privacy policies. All networks operate under AppLovin MAX's consent framework.
| Network | Operator | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Google LLC | Link |
| AppLovin Exchange | AppLovin Corporation | Link |
| Meta Audience Network | Meta Platforms, Inc. | Link |
| Tapjoy (AppLovin Offers) | AppLovin Corporation | Link |
Ad formats used in our apps:
- Interstitial ads — full-screen ads that appear between game sessions
- Rewarded video ads — optional video ads you choose to watch in exchange for an in-game benefit (such as continuing after a game over)
- Offerwall ads — optional task-based offers available in some games
4. Advertising ID (Android)
To serve relevant ads, ad networks read the Google Advertising ID (GAID) — a resettable, anonymous identifier assigned by Android to every device. This ID is not your name, phone number, or email. It is used to show you ads that are more relevant to your interests, and to measure whether an ad led to an install.
You can opt out of personalised ads or reset your Advertising ID:
- Android 12 and above: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID (removes personalised ads entirely) or Reset advertising ID
- Android 10–11: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalisation
If you opt out, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests.
5. In-app purchases — Google Play Billing
Some LightBit games offer an optional one-time purchase (for example, "Remove Ads"). All purchases are processed entirely by Google Play. LightBit Studio never sees, handles, or stores your payment card details. Payment processing is subject to Google Play's terms and privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Data we do NOT collect
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information
- Your location (GPS-based or network-based)
- Your contacts, calendar, or files
- Photos, microphone, or camera input
- Health or fitness information
- Your browser history or activity outside our apps
Your game progress
Your scores, streaks, stats, and settings are saved locally on your device only. This data is never sent to LightBit servers. If you uninstall an app, your local progress is permanently deleted. There is no cloud save or account sync.
Children
LightBit Studio's games are not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our apps do not contain child-directed content.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has been using our app in a way that raises a privacy concern, please contact us at lightbitstudio@gmail.com and we will address it promptly.
Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)
If you are located in the EEA, your personal data is processed under the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interest — anonymous crash reporting and analytics (Google Firebase)
- Consent — personalised advertising (via the Advertising ID; you can withdraw consent via Android device settings at any time)
Most personal data we handle is collected and processed by our third-party SDK partners (Google, Meta, AppLovin) and is subject to their own privacy notices, which are linked above.
Your rights under GDPR include:
- The right to access your data
- The right to correct inaccurate data
- The right to request erasure of your data
- The right to object to or restrict processing
- The right to data portability
Because LightBit Studio does not collect personal data directly (all data flows through third-party SDKs), most GDPR requests should be directed to the relevant SDK operator (Google, Meta, AppLovin). For questions about data processed by LightBit Studio directly, contact lightbitstudio@gmail.com.
Users in California (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale of your personal information. LightBit Studio does not sell personal information. For data collected by our third-party ad partners, please refer to their privacy policies and opt-out mechanisms linked above.
Data retention
LightBit Studio does not operate servers that retain your data. Data retention is governed by our third-party SDK partners according to their own policies:
- Google Firebase: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- AppLovin: https://www.applovin.com/privacy/
- Meta: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
Security
All data transmitted by our third-party SDKs (Firebase, AdMob, AppLovin, Meta) uses HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit. Local game data on your device is protected by Android's standard app sandboxing.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We may notify you of significant changes via an in-app notice. Continued use of our apps after the updated policy date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
